FAQS

WHO AM I?

As a LMFT-C, I have been educated and trained to consider, not only the person in the therapy room with me, but the larger context within which they function.  While I am able to treat individuals, my approaches take into account the culture, family, and generational worldviews that impact the individual(s).

WHAT APPROACH DO I USE?

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches.  Just as no two people are experiencing the same struggles, there is no one approach that works for all.  I spend time providing clients with tools to bring themselves into a less emotionally reactive space using techniques pulled from DBT and CBT.  At the same time, I draw from a number of evidence-based schools of thought; i.e. Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, as well as a variety of solution-focused and transgenerational models.

HOW LONG DOES THERAPY TAKE?

The length of a therapeutic relationship is individual to each case.  There are some clients who are interested in tools to feel better ASAP, and do not have the time or luxury of looking deeper into the patterns that may be causing the distress to arise.  Others find that, once the acute distress has subsided, they are interested in delving into the core of the problems at hand.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE

I am not a part of any insurance boards.  However, if one would like to use their insurance, I encourage them to call their insurance provider to inquire as to if they will be reimbursed for their payments.
Often times, individuals use their HSA card to pay for sessions.
